Leadership & Governance

Given the geographical diversity of India, the number of existing and potential Internet users, the Digital India Program and given that India is our country which has, there is a serious need to create enabling conditions and IIFON enables these conditions through its leadership team and governance structure.

The India Internet Foundation endeavors to incorporate the best corporate governance model wherein values are the cornerstone rather than the rules. Values are the operating principles for IIFON. IIFON follows in letter and in spirit the values of Transparency, Learning & Sharing & Accountability. The Foundation is an initiative from Internet Society Kolkata Chapter and has been co founded by Mr. Anupam Agrawal & Mr. Anand Raje in 2015.

Anupam Agrawal
An Information Technology Practitioner with leadership experience in IT Public Policy, Corporate Industry Forums, Information Technology Standards, & Program Implementation. An experienced Information Technology trainer, keynote speaker, panelist, leader and key influencer for advocacy and outreach, with wide international exposure across stakeholder groups. Finance Degree from ICAI & ICWAI, India; IT Security Degree from ISACA, USA & Internet Governance Certification from University of Aarhus, Germany & Next Generation Leaders Program of Internet Society in association with DIPLO Foundation.

Anand Raje
Anand is an information technology (IT) entrepreneur. He co-founded two Internet and business IT solution companies - RABT Technologies in 2011 and BASIS Technologies in 2013. He is also an experienced trainer in network security. Previously, he designed and implemented e-governance projects for the Land Records and Revenue Departments in India, and was involved in bringing the first L-Root instance in India. Anand is now implementing the Indian IETF Capacity Building Program that aims to increase awareness of Internet standards and protocols among engineering students. He is also involved in implementing India's first community-driven Internet exchange point - IIFON-IX-Kolkata. Anand holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and has multiple certifications in IT, network security and privacy, including DSCI, DCPLA, CSSP and CCNSP. He has also completed the ISOC Next Generation Leaders Programme. He has participated in and organized numerous international technology forums, workshops and conferences, and has received fellowships from ICANN and ISOC for IETF.
Amitabh Singhal
As a Founder and Past President/DG of ISPAI, helped formulate the original ISP license in 1998 leading to privatisation of Internet services with unlimited competition, opening up of international gateways, removal of govt monopoly over int'l communications, pushing with TRAI to bring down bandwidth prices, setting QoS for Internet services, etc. Was a member of an Expert Group on Telecom & Convergence, which was set up by then Hon'ble PM, Shri Vajpayee. As a Founder Member / Director and Past CEO of NIXI, helped set up Internet Exchanges. During tenure as CEO at NIXI, it also became the .IN Domain Names Registry and also set up 3 Root Servers. Been a participant of Industry Chambers, Task Forces, Committees & Forums. At a full time job at GTL, where i spent over 13 years, worked with CMD, assisted him for over 10 years on various critical corporate issues successfully and was part of the team that supported the transition phase from a product company to an IT and VAS services company. Award winning Sales Management, FDI, PR, Govt business, Market Devp, Admn, Legal; exposed to variety of job content at GTL.
