Prof. Gautam Paul

Professor Gautam Paul is an esteemed Associate Professor and Head of the Cryptology and Security Research Unit at the Indian Statistical Institute. With a specialization in both classical and quantum cryptology, he is a renowned cryptologist and a motivational speaker who actively advocates for a sattvic diet. Professor Paul holds a Ph.D. in Cryptology from Jadavpur University, with his research conducted at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, under the guidance of Dr. Subhamoy Maitra. His thesis, titled “Analysis and Design of RC4 and Its Variants,” showcases his expertise in the field. He also earned an M.S. in Computer Science from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany and a B.E. in Computer Science & Technology from Bengal Engineering College, now the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur. In addition to his role at ISI, Professor Paul is a Visiting Professor at the Centre for Quantum Engineering, Research and Education (CQuERE) at TCG CREST in Kolkata.

Prof. Debnath Bhattacharyya

Currently, Dr. Bhattacharyya is the Full-Time Professor at KL University, India, and Visiting Professor at University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He worked as an Invited International Professor at Lincoln University, KL, Malaysia (2017-2021). He served as Foreign Professor, Department of Multimedia Engineering, Hannam University, South Korea.

He received his Ph.D. (Tech., Computer Science and Engineering) from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata. Also received M.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata, India.

He is a Senior Member of ACM, ACM SIGKDD, IEEE Senior Member (Since 2010), Life Member of CSI, India, Senior Member of IACSIT, Singapore and Senior Member of IAENG, Hong Kong. He was selected as the ACM Distinguished Speaker (2017-20). He is the Editor of Many International Journals (indexed by Scopus, SCI, and Web of Science). He Published 280 Scopus Indexed Papers (H-Index: 21) and 152 Web of Science Papers (H-Index: 15).

Dr. Bhattacharyya has visited various Foreign Countries for presenting his research findings and as the International Professor. Currently acting as the Ph.D. Examiner of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi; Jain University, Bangalore; and Jadavpur University, Kolkata. His Research interests include Security Engineering, Pattern Recognition, Multimodal Biometric Authentication, Data Mining and Image Processing. In addition, he is serving as a reviewer of various International Journals of Springer, Elsevier, IEEE, etc., and International Conferences. He also published 7 textbooks for Computer Science and Engineering, so far.

Amitabh Singhal

Amitabh Singhal has 39 years of experience in both the for-profit corporate and non-profit sectors, spanning domestic and international organizations. As the Founder and Past President/DG of the Internet Service Providers Association of India (ISPAI), he was pivotal in formulating the original ISP license in 1998, leading to the privatization of Internet services in India. This milestone, achieved on November 8, 1998, marked the “Freedom for Internet in India.” He played a crucial role in opening up Internet Telephony, international gateways, and dismantling the government’s monopoly over international communications. Additionally, he was a member of an Expert Group on Telecom & Convergence, set up by then Hon’ble PM, Shri Vajpayee.

In his role as Founder, Member/Director, and CEO of the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), Singhal facilitated the establishment of Internet Exchanges, the .IN Domain Names Registry, and the first three instances of Root Servers in India. Under his leadership, NIXI also began operating the National Internet Registry and managing an extensive portfolio of Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). Amitabh Singhal has been actively involved in various industry chambers, task forces, committees, and forums.

Dr. Indrajit De

An academically oriented person having been in teaching profession for more than 18 years, Dr De is currently associated with MCKV Institute of Engineering in West Bengal. Dr. De is currently the elected Vice Chair of Internet Society Kolkata Chapter. He has graduated in Engineering from Calcutta University and subsequently completed his M.Tech in IT and Ph.D in CST from IIEST, Shibpur, India. Also he has many authored publications in major international journals and conferences and edited books. He has been reviewing some major journal articles in publications like Applied Soft Computing, Machine Vision and Applications, IEEE Access etc for many years. He has also contributed as one of the founder coordinators in IICB – a flagship Internet standards awareness building project in India funded by Internet Society and approved by MeitY(earlier DeitY), Govt, of India. He has visited as well actively participated in IETF 94, 103 and ISOC – APAC Chapter meetings many a times across different parts of the World.

Dr. Amlan Chakrabarti

Amlan Chakrabarti is a Full Professor in the A.K.Choudhury School of Information Technology at the University of Calcutta. He is an M.Tech. from University of Calcutta and did his Doctoral research at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He was a Post-Doctoral fellow at the School of Engineering, Princeton University, USA during 2011-2012. He has almost 20 years of experience in Engineering Education and Research. He is the recipient of prestigious DST BOYSCAST fellowship award in Engineering Science (2011), Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Visiting Faculty Fellowship (2014), JSPS Invitation Research Award (2016) from Japan, Erasmus Mundus Leaders Award from European Union (2017), Hamied Visiting Professorship from University of Cambridge, UK (2018) and Siksha Ratna Award by Dept. of Higher Education Govt. of West Bengal (2018). He has also served in various capacities in various higher education organizations both at national and international levels.

Dr. Monowar Bhuyan

Monowar Bhuyan is an Assistant Professor (biträdande lektor) in the Department of Computing Science, Umeå University, Sweden since January 2020 and one of the research group leaders in Autonomous Distributed Systems Lab since September 2017. Prior to this, he was a Visiting Researcher in the Laboratory for Cyber Resilience led by Prof. Youki Kadobayashi at NAIST, Japan from April to December 2019 funded by NICT, Japan. Monowar worked as Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat, India from November 2016 to September 2019. Before that, he has been served as Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the same Department from July 2013 to October 2016. He was a Researcher in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Tezpur University, India from January 2009 to June 2013. He primarily works in machine learning, anomaly detection, security and privacy, trustworthy AI, and distributed systems.
